Waterpark Rules & Safety Guidelines
Please note all our Pirate’s Cove Waterpark rules and safety guidelines below before visiting Funtasia Theme Park.
Accompanied Children
- Under 9: Must be accompanied in the water by an adult.
- Ratio Rule:
- 0-4 years: 1 adult per child.
- 5-8 years: 1 adult for every 2 children.
- 9+ years: Can swim without adult supervision.
- Accompanying adults must not leave children under 9 unattended or beyond eye contact.

Prohibited Items
- Buggies/Pushchairs: Not allowed in the Waterpark for health and safety reasons.
- Food and Drink: Not allowed into the Waterpark or spectator’s area, except bottled water.
Lockers
Available for use with a €1 coin, refundable after use.
Safety Guidelines
Floors and walkways can be slippery. Please exercise caution and avoid running.
Tickets
- Pre-booked online tickets should be collected at the information desk. These are discounted tickets, and normal queuing procedures apply.
- All entrants must pay the full admission price. A FREE spectator area is available.
Cameras
No cameras are allowed in the Waterpark or spectator area.
Re-admission
No re-admission into the Waterpark once you leave. Re-entry requires a new ticket purchase.
Changing Facilities
Customers assisting with changing can obtain a changing ticket from the Waterpark desk. A €20 deposit is required, refundable upon exit within 15 minutes.
Changing Areas and Showers
Accessible showers are located beside the locker rooms. Large family changing rooms are available next to the baby changing room.
Swimwear and Hygiene
- Swimming Hats: Not required.
- Swimwear: Appropriate swimwear is mandatory; provocative attire, street clothes, or clothing with buttons, belts, or metal ornamentation are prohibited. T-shirts, shorts, and wetsuits are permitted but showering before entering the pool is required.
- Swim Nappies: Required for all children not toilet-trained.
Towels
Towels are NOT provided. Guests must bring their own or purchase at the Waterpark desk.
Additional Support
Changing tickets and a unique armband system are available for extra support. Please inquire at the Waterpark reception desk.
Accessibility and Special Requirements
- Please speak to a member of our staff at the Waterpark reception desk for guidance on wheelchair access and other accommodations for guests with disabilities.
- Carers of special needs guests can buy a ticket at a reduced rate of €19.50 into the Waterpark upon presentation of a disability/Carers Membership Card (e.g., Irish Autism Action or the Carers Association or GP Letter).
Waterpark Safety Rules
- Read and obey all posted signs.
- Obey all instructions given by attendants, operators, and lifeguards.
- No glass, cigarettes, gum, or food is allowed in the water area.
- Individuals under the influence of alcohol or drugs are prohibited.
- Pregnant women and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should avoid slides.
- No shoes beyond the shower area.
- Loose items (glasses, cameras, wallets, hats, keys, etc.) should be secured or left with non-riders. Funtasia is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
- Eyeglasses must be securely affixed with head straps.
- Ride at your own risk.
- Shower before entering the pool.
Waterpark Caution
- Assess the ride and decide if you can safely participate. Be mindful of your limitations.
- Only feet-first entries are allowed in shallow water. Diving is not permitted.
- Unruly behaviour and horseplay are prohibited.
- Personal flotation devices, boogie boards, and inflatable toys are not permitted.
- Do not sit, stand, or kneel on tubes. Follow lifeguard instructions at all times.
