Delicious Ginger Snaps
Ingredients
- 50g butter
- 100g soft light brown sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
- 100g plain flour
- 2 tbsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- A pinch of salt
Directions
Beat the butter, sugar, egg and syrup together in a large bowl until fluffy and slightly paler in colour.
Sift over the dry ingredients and mix to form dough. Dip a round measurement teaspoon in a glass of water and scoop up a slightly rounded teaspoon of dough, then drop on to a baking tray. Bake biscuits for 14-16 minutes until brown around the edges. remove from oven and leave to cool for 5 minutes.
Transfer to wire rack. Enjoy!
